The Craigslist Bay to Breakers has been named by ESPN one of the top things every sports fan must do before they die.

One of the oldest races in the world, this uniquely San Francisco celebration is renowned for its combination of sports and irreverent character.

World-class athletes share the course with runners, walkers and some of the most outrageously costumed participants from around the globe.

CRAIGSLIST BAY TO BREAKERS -
A SERIOUS RACE

One hundred and one years ago, the first Bay to Breakers Race showed the world that the City of San Francisco was back; having survived the Great Quake and Fire of 1906. As we look forward to the continued running of this world-class athletic event, we challenge this year’s participants to live up to San Francisco’s historic reputation for fun, fair play and responsibility.

A race is no place for drunken, messy and dangerous behavior. Come prepared for a good time, but understand: There will be ZERO TOLERANCE for public drinking, bad behavior and non-registrants ‘crashing’ the Race.

No floats or wheeled objects of any type will be permitted along the race route. Race officials, working in concert with the City and County of San Francisco and public officials, are making it clear: We're serious. See you on Race day.
